Andy Highland singled in the bottom of the 11th inning to give the Kenosha Kings a 3-2 victory over the Sheboygan A’s in a Wisconsin State League game Thursday night at Simmons Field.

Billy Johnson led off the winning rally with a single, and Joe Ferro followed with a bunt single.

After Ross Conwell’s sacrifice bunt, Mich Fuchs was intentionally walked to load the bases.

Highland, who went 2-for-6, won it when his line drive glanced off the outstretched glove of the Sheboygan third baseman.

Jon Kleinmeyer (1-3) pitched all 11 innings and threw 134 pitches. After allowing five hits in the second inning, Kleinmeyer gave up one the rest of the way. He walked two and struck out one.

Taylor Schwarz and Brett Cleveringa each had RBI for the A’s, who fell to 24-11 overall, 12-10 in the Wisconsin State League.

“After the second inning, he got a lot of quick outs, a lot of first-pitch strikes and first-pitch swings,” Kings manager Tim Pulizzano said.

“He was a horse. This was his third start in the last nine days. I couldn’t ask any more of the kid.”

Ferro and John Lequia each went 2-for-5.
