Bandits Top Giants In 13 Innings

The Manitowoc Bandits needed 13 innings to take down the Oshkosh Giants on Tuesday night, 6-2.

OSHKOSH — The Manitowoc Bandits needed 13 innings to take down the Oshkosh Giants on Tuesday night, 6-2.

Mike Hall knocked in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly to score Galen Duff. An errant throw by the catcher to first base on a Duff strikeout allowed Duff to reach second base. Duff advanced to third on a single by Brock Wetenkamp, who would later score on an RBI double by Sam Spurney. Brad Liermann capped off the four-run inning with a two-run single.

Joe Christensen got the win, pitching the final four innings. He struck out one, walked one and gave up two hits. Matt Phipps went the first nine innings, allowing one earned run.

Liermann led the team with a 2-for-6 performance with two RBI while Nat Richter and Spurney added doubles.
