The Manitowoc Bandits got off to a hot start against the Green Bay Storm, but couldn't hold on as the Storm beat Manitowoc 9-8 in 10 innings at Municipal Field on Wednesday.

MANITOWOC — The Manitowoc Bandits got off to a hot start against the Green Bay Storm, but couldn’t hold on as the Storm beat Manitowoc 9-8 in 10 innings at Municipal Field on Wednesday.

The Bandits (8-10 overall, 4-7 Northeast League) jumped out to a 7-0 lead after three innings, but managed to score just one run in the final seven innings. Green Bay (9-4, 4-3), meanwhile, scored four times in fourth inning to get back into the game. The Storm then added a run in every inning from the sixth on.

Miles Mayer took the loss for the Bandits, pitching the final 3.2 innings. He faced the game’s final 18 batters and gave up five hits and three runs (two earned) over that span.

Galen Duff led Manitowoc at the plate by going 2-for-4, while Nat Richter was 2-for-5. Sam Spurney and Stuart Larson each belted doubles.
