Manitowoc Bandits Beat Chicago Wildcats

The Manitowoc Bandits won the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Chicago Wildcats, 4-3, at Municipal Field.

MANITOWOC — The Manitowoc Bandits won the first game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Chicago Wildcats, 4-3, at Municipal Field. Game 2 was not finished by press time.

Brennan Rhode got the complete-game win on the mound, striking out two and walking two. He got himself out of a jam in the top of the seventh inning, leaving the bases loaded when Chicago grounded out to second to end the game.

Sam Spurney finished 2-for-3 with three runs batted in, including a two-run home run in the third inning for the Bandits (12-10 overall). Brock Wetenkamp scored on Spurney’s homer and finished 2-for-3 with a double.
