The Eau Claire Cavaliers held a try-out camp on Saturday to help finalize their 2011 roster. They open the season at home on Friday against the Osseo Merchants.

The Cavs’ roster is pretty much set for the season, but Saturday’s tryout did give the team’s coaches the opportunity to add an extra player in Stout freshman John Ewald.

True to their goals, the Cavaliers once again feature plenty of Chippewa Valley’s best, as more than a dozen players are natives of western Wisconsin.

Cavaliers Manager Mark McHorney says having a large local presence on the team has been his goal since day one.
