SHEBOYGAN – The A’s and West Allis both tallied 14 hits apiece in this offensively dominant game, but the A’s had the higher number in the run column giving the A’s their second win of the season, winning 15-9 on Tuesday night at Wildwood Baseball Park.

Wyatt Olson got the A’s on the board early with a two-out RBI single in the first, scoring Barwick and Detert.

The second inning is where the A’s added the bulk of their runs as the offense was clicking on all cylinders; the A’s drew four walks and registered four hits in the inning to plate seven runs.

Eric Schmitz started on the mound for the A’s but struggled early with walking three West Allis National batters, but he escaped the jam without giving up a run. Schmitz later settled down and pitched well up until the fifth inning. Schmitz was chased from the game when the Nationals strung together five singles in a row on him. The Nationals offense entered the fifth facing a 9-1 deficit but plated seven runs of their own with help from Sheboygan A killer Curt Pryal who knocked in two runs on a RBI single and Kyle Kalkopf added a bases clearing three RBI double to bring them within one run, making the score 9-8.

The A’s did not give in as they continued their offensive ways by plating six runs in the final four frames and only giving up one run to lock up the 15-9 win.

Carter Amundson ended the night going 3-4 with a double and four RBI.

Wyatt Olson added two hits and three RBI.

Ripon College product Andrew Wood picked up the win for the A’s while Cameron Smith took the loss for the Nationals.

The A’s hit the road to finish out the week as they head to Pewaukee on Wednesday, Manitowoc on Friday, and Northern Illinois on Saturday.

The A’s next home game at Wildwood Baseball Park will be Monday, June 8 when they take on the Green Bay Storm; first pitch is scheduled for 7:30PM. It will be Sponsors & Friends Night at the ballpark.
