WSL Tuesday Roundup: A’s Surge Past West Bend; Oshkosh Crushes Manitowoc

In the only WSL action Tuesday night, the Sheboygan A's defeated West Bend 7 Up 8-4.

Sheboygan A’s 8, West Bend 7 Up 4

The Sheboygan A’s were in Wisconsin State League action last night as they faced Northern Division rival West Bend 7 UP.

Ten batters came to bat for the A’s in the 7th inning as they plated six runs on their way to an 8-4 victory.

Dan Barwick and Taylor Grimm each recorded two RBI in the inning.

Derek Loomans picked up his first win of the 2015 campaign, going seven strong and striking out four. Joel Sharon took the loss for West Bend 7 UP.

With the win, A’s improve their Wisconsin State League record to 4-5. The overall record now sits at 8-5.

Oshkosh Giants 13, Manitowoc Bandits 2

The Oshkosh Giants picked up a 13-2 win Tuesday in eight innings over the Manitowoc Bandits in a Northeastern Baseball League game played in Manitowoc.

Cordell Walker, Hunter Funkhouser and Matt Sabel combined for eight strikeouts and gave up only two hits in the win for the Giants. Funkhouser picked up the win in relief.

Jeremy McCarty had three hits – including a home run – while driving in three runs while Alex Brewer had three hits with a double. Cody Davis and Robbie Kleman each chipped in two hits for Oshkosh.
