Orioles Clinch Tie for WSL Title

With their 7-0 win over Addison Wednesday night, the Lombard Orioles clinched at least a tie for the Wisconsin State League title.

With their 7-0 win over Addison Wednesday night, the Lombard Orioles clinched at least a tie for the Wisconsin State League title. They can win the title outright with one more win, or one more loss by the West Allis Nationals. The O’s capitalized on their 12 hits and six Addison errors in the winning effort, scoring two in the second, one in the third, one in the sixth, and three in the seventh. Jack Blazevich led the offense for Lombard, with a double and two single, four total bases, and two RBI. John Vesevick picked up the win, pitching five innings and striking out five.

Sheboygan A’s 5, Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons 3
Bryce Lovisa pitched a complete-game effort, striking out 10 as the A’s defeated Greater Green Bay 5-3 in Green Bay. Trailing 3-2 entering the top of the seventh, Harry Steldt reached base on an error. Jimmy Juergensen and TD Walker followed that up with walks to load the bases. After Sage Stellmacher grounded into a fielder’s choice that tied the game, Cole Erickson delivered a base hit past the Blue Ribbon’s shortstop to take the lead. The A’s would add one more in the eighth when speedy outfielder JT Reed scored on a wild pitch.
