Orioles, Nationals Remain Atop the WSL

The Lombard Orioles and West Allis Nationals remain atop the Wisconsin State League standings after Thursday's games.
Lombard Orioles 10, Addison Braves 1
The Orioles scored runs in five different innings to easily win 10-1 over the Addison Braves Thursday night. Lombard’s Bobby Grimes got things started with a solo-shot in the first inning. In total, Lombard hit three long-balls on the night, with Kyle Fitzgerald hitting not one, but two home runs in the fifth and eighth innings. Jacob Cyrus took the win for Lombard. The righty went three innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out three. Adrian Repier took the loss for Addison. The southpaw lasted five innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out eight.

West Allis Nationals 12, Kenosha Kings 6
The Nationals pounded out 18 hits, doubling up the Kings on the scoreboard 12-6 Thursday. Jacob Kaiser was 4-for-5 at the plate with one RBI and two runs scored. In total, 11 different Nationals collected hits. Brian Huntzinger and Peter Turelli each recorded home runs, while Kaiser, Logan Rademan, Quinton Morris, and Tyrese Mitchell each had extra base-hits. Brandon Jeffery struggled in the third inning for the Kings while taking the loss. Jeffery allowed nine hits, and seven earned runs as the Nationals erased a 6-0 deficit in one inning. Dalton Madsen was credited with the win for West Allis, going 5.1 innings, allowing four hits, two runs and issuing two walks while striking out four.
