The Sheboygan A's semipro baseball team won its season opener Thursday night, racking up 14 hits in an 11-3 victory over Two Rivers at Wildwood Baseball Park.

The Sheboygan A’s semipro baseball team won its season opener Thursday night, racking up 14 hits in an 11-3 victory over Two Rivers at Wildwood Baseball Park.

The A’s led 1-0 through four innings, but broke loose for four runs in the fifth inning and four in the sixth to take a 9-2 lead.

First baseman Gabe Marshall went 3-for-5 with three RBI for Sheboygan, while catcher Ryan Schilter, designated hitter Ryan Schmitz, third baseman Jared Fon and left fielder Kyle Edlhuber each had two hits. Schmitz drove in three runs, including two on sacrifice flies.

Will Madson was the winner on the mound for the A’s, allowing two earned runs on four hits, striking out five and walking one in six innings. Ryan Eigenberger picked up the save, pitching three innings and allowing one earned run on three hits, striking out three and walking none.

Shad Hintz led the Polar Bears with a 3-for-4 night at the plate. Joe Christensen, who hit the game’s only home run, took the loss for Two Rivers, allowing eight earned runs and 12 hits in six innings.
