Braves, Giants Split Weekend Series

The Oshkosh Giants played four games against the Addison Braves over the weekend and came away with a 2-2 split.

The Oshkosh Giants baseball team played four games against the Addison Braves over the weekend and came away with a 2-2 split, putting their season record at 4-8.

Sunday, Oshkosh captured Game 1, 3-1, in seven innings behind the pitching of Andrew Murphy, who went the distance and struck out three. Derrick Layton went 2-for-3 at the plate. Addison won the nightcap 8-6.

Saturday, the Giants dropped Game 1, 8-6, but recovered at night, recording a 10-0 victory behind pitcher Luke Westphal’s nine strikeouts in six innings of work.

Tyler Kamps, Doug Beattie, Michael Prado and Murphy had two hits in the victory.
