Eau Claire Cavaliers vs. Kenosha Kings

The Eau Claire Cavaliers struggled at the plate Sunday, scoring only two runs in a pair of losses to the Kenosha Kings.

Eau Claire fell in game one, 7-1, and dropped game two, 3-1. The losses drop the Cavaliers to 6-8 overall and 5-6 in the Wisconsin State Baseball League, while the Kings improve to 5-1 in league play.

Manitowoc Bandits vs. Lombard Orioles

The Manitowoc Bandits were swept on Saturday by the Lombard Orioles in a Wisconsin State League doubleheader in Illinois but squeezed out a victory in a second doubleheader on Sunday.

Manitowoc opened the Sunday doubleheader with a 2-1 win over the Orioles behind Parker Johnson’s complete-game, three-hit win from the mound. Lombard routed the Bandits in the nightcap, 12-2, however.

On Saturday, the Bandits were crushed in five innings by Lombard in the first game, 11-1, but nearly toppled the three-time defending WSL champions in the nightcap.

Manitowoc trailed 1-0 in the top of the seventh with runners on first and second with no outs. The Bandits failed to cross home plate in the inning, however, allowing Lombard to hang on for the one-run victory.

Brad Liermann had a double and RBI for the Bandits in Game 1 while Galen Duff led Manitowoc in Game 2 with a double.

Bandits pitcher Brennan Rhode gave up only three hits to the Orioles in Game 2 but received the loss.

Sheboygan A’s vs. Addison Braves

The Sheboygan A’s and Addison Braves played a double header on Sunday, plus more, as Saturday’s second game of their doubleheader had to be suspended after three innings due to no power at the field.

The Sheboygan A’s won games one and three of the four game set by scores of 13-3 and 4-2.

The A’s took a 2-0 lead into Sunday’s resumption of game two, but poor pitching and defense allowed the Braves to post 14-runs, in a 14-4 win.

The Braves also came from behind in game four, with a bases loaded single to left field, scoring two runs, giving the Braves a 3-2 victory.

Non-League Games: Oshkosh Giants Get Sweep Against De Pere

The Oshkosh Giants swept the DePere River Bandits in a doubleheader Sunday, winning Game 1, 1-0, and Game 2, 5-3.

Blake Berger went 2-for-4 and Doug Beattie hit the go-ahead RBI in the eighth inning in Game 1.

Oshkosh won Game 2 behind Andrew Murphy’s complete game and a 2-RBI day from Travis DeRocha.
