mpressive pitching performances by Tyler Dierke and T.J. Wink would lead the Eau Claire Cavaliers to a doubleheader sweep of the Oshkosh Giants Saturday. The Cavs won game one, 6-1, before taking game two, 7-0.
Doug Beattie went 2-for-3 with a double in the Giants first game against the Cavaliers. In all, Oshkosh managed just eight hits in two games.
Dierke got the win for the Cavs in the opener, and was backed up by a pair of two-run homers from Ty Fadness and Ben Sebesta. Wink took the win in game two, leading the Cavaliers to a shutout of the Giants.
Eau Claire improves to 22-11 with the victories, and to 13-8 in the Wisconsin State League. The Cavaliers and the Giants wrap up their weekend series in Oshkosh on Sunday, July 18th, at 12:00 p.m.
