Manitowoc Bandits Win Regular Season Finale

The fate of the Manitowoc Bandits season now rests in the hands of the Sheboygan A's.

MANITOWOC — The fate of the Manitowoc Bandits season now rests in the hands of the Sheboygan A’s.

The Bandits defeated De Pere 9-1 in Thursday’s regular-season finale at Municipal Field and will now need Sheboygan to lose both of its doubleheader games against De Pere tonight.

De Pere (2-20 Northeastern Wisconsin League) defeated Sheboygan 9-5 for its second win of the season on Wednesday. Sheboygan (13-9 NEWBL) defeated Oshkosh 13-0 on Thursday to lower its magic number to one game. The Bandits finish the season 13-11 in NEWBL play with the win.

Stewart Larson had five of the team’s 15 hits, including a double, home run and four RBI. Miles Mayer did his part on the mound for the Bandits, striking out nine and having a no-hitter going into the fifth. He pitched seven shutout innings for Manitowoc.
