The “official” grand opening of the Sheboygan Athletic Club’s renovation of Wildwood Baseball Park takes place on Saturday, June 4. The celebration ends a long, frustrating, weather-hampered construction period.
It has been a struggle, but a successful one, and it will end with a day of good music, good food, good baseball and good times.
The popular Buffalo Joe band will entertain and that in itself ensures a good time for all.
The schedule for the day looks like this:
12 pm: brat fry, raffles, park tours begin.
1:30-3:45 pm: Buffalo Joe.
2 pm: meet the A’s (autographs and photos).
3:50 pm: ribbon cutting, grand opening remarks.
4:10 pm: A’s vs. Chicago Clout.
Other details were still to be ironed out as this program went to press, but one thing is certain: the Club is going to celebrate. The celebration certainly has been earned and the A’s hope you will join in. Whether you are a fan of the A’s, or just a fan of Sheboygan, the A’s look forward to seeing you on this very special day in Sheboygan baseball history.
The A’s offer their sincere thanks to Century Fence, Milwaukee Lawn Sprinkler, Oostburg Concrete, Oostburg Lumber, Protective Sports Concepts, Quasius Construction, Sheboygan Public Works Dept., Superior Lawn & Garden, Wagner Excavating and Zelle Welding for their help and guidance in this construction project.
