Oshkosh Giants swept by Eau Claire Cavaliers in doubleheader

The Oshkosh Giants had a difficult time playing with the lead Saturday.

Oshkosh surrendered a 4-1 lead in the first game of a doubleheader against the Eau Claire Cavaliers, losing 6-4 and the Giants couldn’t hang onto a 1-0 lead in the second game, losing 3-1.

The Giants pounded out 14 hits in the first game, but failed to deliver with runners on base, managing just four runs in the game.

Blake Burger went 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI in the first game, while Brock Guetzke, Kyle Van Abel and John Stevens each went 2-for-4 in the contest.

Andrew Buss allowed just four hits for the Giants in the first game, but Oshkosh couldn’t muster much run support to back up his performance. The Giants scratched out just three hits and one run in the second contest.

Burger accounted for Oshkosh’s lone run with an RBI single.
