The Manitowoc Bandits amateur baseball team will have to settle for a share of third place with the Sheboygan A’s after being swept by the Kenosha Kings in a doubleheader Sunday afternoon at Municipal Field.

The Bandits received plenty of offense in the two contests but could not keep the Kings from scoring, dropping Game 1 14-9 and losing the nightcap 10-7.

The Bandits were led offensively on the day by Kevin Valerio who was 4-for-7 and Max Stepan who was 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and five RBI.

Matt Shea and Miles Mayer took the losses in the two games.

The Bandits host the Green Bay Storm on Tuesday night in the team’s regular-season and home finale.

The Bandits have secured the top seed in the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League playoffs and will host either Appleton or Oshkosh on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. to open the playoffs.
