Kenosha Wins 1-0 over the Lake County Fielders

Chalk one up for the Kenosha County Fielders; as they came out victorious 1-0 Wednesday evening over their border foe, the Lake County Fielders.

August 17, 2011 – Zion, IL –Chalk one up for the Kenosha County Fielders; as they came out victorious 1-0 Wednesday evening over their border foe, the Lake County Fielders.

Both starters went the distance for their respective squads. Kenosha starter Randy Johnson went all nine innings allowing seven hits and striking out nine, while only walking one batter in the complete game shut-out victory.

The Fielders had right-hander Nick Kennedy on the mound who also went all nine innings, allowing one run on three hits while walking none and striking out a career high 14 batters.

Kenosha scored the only run of the ball-game in the top of the fifth inning with two outs. Catcher Billy Johnson singled and later advanced to second base on a wild pitch to the next hitter John Hasser. Hasser then doubled and scored Johnson from second for the lone run of the ball game.

Leading the offensive charge for Lake County was first-baseman David Casey. Casey entered the game in the second inning and went two for three at the plate with a pair of singles and a strikeout.
