Ten-Run Fourth Propels Kenosha to Game Two Victory

The Kenosha County Fielders have now taken the first two games in the "Border Battle" series with a convincing 14-6 victory over the Lake County Fielders Thursday evening.
Zion, IL –The Kenosha County Fielders have now taken the first two games in the “Border Battle” series with a convincing 14-6 victory over the Lake County Fielders Thursday evening.
Five of Kenosha’s ten-run fifth were courtesy of shortstop Joe Ferro. Ferro had an RBI single and a run scored in his first plate appearance in the inning. When Ferro came up later in the fourth, he had the bags loaded and deposited a pitch over the left field fence for a grand slam. Ferro finished the night going 3 for 5 at the plate.
Kenosha’s starter Andrew Paulauskas threw eight innings allowing six runs on ten hits while picking up the victory for Kenosha.
Leading the offensive charge for Lake County was infielder Jairo Valdez. Valdez went 2 for 4 at the plate with a triple in the sixth and a double in the eighth. Valdez would later come around to score in the bottom of the eighth inning.
