Kings grab a 1-0 win over Sheboygan

Joe Balestreri's RBI single in the fourth inning was all Travis Vanderwall and Sean Kennedy needed in the Kenosha Kings' 1-0 win over the Sheboygan A's on Thursday.

KENOSHA — Joe Balestreri’s RBI single in the fourth inning was all Travis Vanderwall and Sean Kennedy needed in the Kenosha Kings’ 1-0 win over the Sheboygan A’s in a Wisconsin State League game at Simmons Field on Thursday night.

The Kings improved to 8-1 overall and 2-1 in the WSL.

Travis Vanderwall started and went 7 1/3 innings and gave up four hits with five strikeouts for his second win of the season.

Sean Kennedy threw the final 1 2/3 innings and logged two strikeouts for the save.

Tyler Eickmeyer, Billy Johnson, John Hasser and Kyle Frye each had two hits for Kenosha.
