Wednesday Roundup: The Sheboygan A's defeated the Kenosha Kings 5-1 in WSL play.

The Kenosha Kings mustered three hits in losing to the host Sheboygan A’s, 5-1, on Wednesday at Wildwood Park.

The Kings (18-7) dropped to 8-1 in the Langsdorf League and 10-4 in the Wisconsin State League.

Joe Ferro gave the Kings a 1-0 lead with a solo home run in the fifth inning before the A’s answered with four runs in the sixth inning. Kenosha stranded a pair of runners in the seventh inning and had the bases loaded in the ninth when Derek Idstein popped up into a game-ending double play.

“It was just one of those games,” Kings’ manager Tim Pulizzano said. “(Sheboygan) made some nice plays.”

Kings’ starter Jason Bunton (2-1) went six innings and allowed six hits and four runs (none earned) with one walk and five strikeouts.

The Kings host the West Allis Nationals in a Langsdorf League doubleheader 1 p.m. Saturday at Simmons Field.

At Menasha, Jason Wierschke pitched a shutout until Mantitowoc’s Alex Larsen homered in the ninth.

Wierschke finished the complete game, striking out 12 and walking one.

Ryan Hinske and Adam Grambow each drove in two runs for Menasha (15-2, 6-1 NEWBL).

The Oshkosh Giants fell at home to the Green Bay Storm 11-1 in eight innings on Wednesday night at E.J. Schneider Field.

Green Bay erupted for an eight-run sixth inning to bust open a 2-0 game.

Chaz Mohr took the loss for the Giants, going five and two-thirds innings, striking out three.

Robbie Kleman provided the Giants only tally with an RBI in the sixth inning and went 2-for-4. Trey Demler also went 2-for-4 for Oshkosh.

In Tuesday’s late game, Oshkosh fell 4-1 to Appleton.
