Giants earn split with Cavaliers

Michael Becker drove in Skyler Bohn with the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth as the Oshkosh Giants beat the Eau Claire Cavaliers, 6-5, in game one of a doubleheader Saturday.
Michael Becker drove in Skyler Bohn with the game-winning run in the bottom of the ninth as the Oshkosh Giants beat the Eau Claire Cavaliers, 6-5, in game one of a doubleheader split at E.J. Schneider Field on Saturday.
Paul Mutch finished 2-for-5 and drove in two runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game 5 and force extra innings, while Trey Demler finished 3-for-5.
Neil Hebert allowed just five hits, while striking out three for the complete game win.
In the nightcap, Eau Claire used a four-run sixth inning to top Oshkosh, 4-2.
Demler finished 2-for-3, while Taylor Boe added a pair of hits, including an RBI double in the seventh that brought the tying run to the plate but the Giants couldn’t get any closer.
The two teams will play another doubleheader beginning at noon Sunday at E.J. Schneider Field.
