Kings commence with triumph

The Kenosha Kings opened the Wisconsin State League Challenge with a 5-2 win against Eau Claire on Friday night in Sheboygan.

The Kenosha Kings opened the Wisconsin State League Challenge with a 5-2 win against Eau Claire on Friday night in Sheboygan.

Jason Dennis doubled and drove in three in helping the Kings improve to 20-9 overall and 8-6 in the WSL. Joe Balestreri was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Kevin Tibor yielded one earned run on six hits in four innings to move to 2-2. He fanned five.

Brandon Jeffrey threw three scoreless innings to earn his second save.

On Saturday, the Kings face Lombard at Howard’s Grove Memorial Park and Sheboygan at Wildwood Park.
