The Kenosha Kings swept a Wisconsin State League doubleheader from the Addison (Ill.) Braves at Addison Trails High School Saturday.
The Kenosha Kings swept a Wisconsin State League doubleheader from the Addison (Ill.) Braves at Addison Trails High School Saturday.
The Kings (26-11 overall, 13-8 WSL) pounded out 13 hits in an 11-4 win in Game 1 before riding the pitching of Kyle Cibrario for a 3-1 victory in Game 2. Both games were seven innings.
In the first game, Travis Vanderwall had two doubles and three RBI, Paul Pulera had a pair of hits and two RBI, Jason Dennis had two hits and drove in a run and Mark Cibrario was 2-for-4 with two runs.
Kevin Tibor got the win, allowing six hits and four earned runs in six innings, and also had a pair of doubles and two RBI at the plate.
Kyle Cibrario was dominant in the second game in running his record to 5-0. He went six innings, allowing three hits and an earned run while walking two and striking out six. Brandon Jeffrey pitched a perfect seventh for his fourth save.
J.T. Schneider was 2-for-4 with a double, Dennis had two hits and an RBI and Vanderwall was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
The Kings host Genoa City 7:30 p.m. Monday in a Langsdorf League game at Simmons Field.
