Kenosha Kings 7, Sheboygan A’s 6

The A’s were leading, 6-5 in the bottom of the eighth when the Kenosha Kings loaded the bases with nobody out. The A’s got a lucky break, as a one-hopper came back to the pitcher, who fired home, then to first for a double play to get two outs.

But there were still two runners on base and elation quickly became deflation when A.J. Kaprellian doubled to the right field corner to knock them both in and give Kenosha a 7-6 lead. The lead became the win when the A’s went quietly in the ninth.

Pewaukee Muskies 7, West Allis Nationals 5

Pewaukee jumped to an early 4-0 lead and withstood a number of Nationals
comeback attempts en route to a 7-5 victory Wednesday night at Harvey
Kuenn Field in West Allis.

Despite a number of well hit balls, the Nationals were held to five hits on
the night. Key blows included Brian Huntzinger’s two out RBI single in
the second to put the Nationals on the board, and Jimmy Jungbauer and
Paul Archambault’s RBI singles in a two-run sixth that narrowed the
deficit to 7-5.

Curt Pryal went the first four plus innings and took the loss. The
Nationals bullpen of Tom Starck, Tyler Frohwirth and Cody Griebling
limited the Muskies to three hits and two unearned runs the rest of the way,
striking out seven.
