WSL Friday Roundup: A’s Handle Manitowc 18-2

“Bud Light Night” at Wildwood Baseball Park brought in a nice crowd to watch the A’s take on the Manitowoc Bandits in Northeastern Wisconsin League action Friday night.

“Bud Light Night” at Wildwood Baseball Park brought in a nice crowd to watch the A’s take on the Manitowoc Bandits in Northeastern Wisconsin League action Friday night.

The A’s displayed their skills at the plate by drawing ten walks and scattering ten hits en route to their tenth victory of the season.

Nate Heili and Adam Ryan got the A’s on the board early as they each knocked in a run in the 1st inning giving the A’s a 2-0 lead. From then on the offense poured on the runs.

Blake Fleischmann added a two RBI triple in the 2nd.

Wyatt Olson finished with two hits and two walks to go along with his two RBI’s.

Nate Heili showcased his power with a 2-run home run, he ended a double shy of the cycle and tallied 4 RBI’s.

Starting pitcher Rob Hagedorn was brilliant, going six innings allowing only three hits. With the win, he is now 2-0 on the season.

The A’s improved to 10-6 overall and remain undefeated in Northeastern Wisconsin League play with a 6-0 record.

To finish out the weekend the A’s will head south to take on the Addison Braves in a four-game series, playing a doubleheader on Saturday and Sunday.

Following an off day Monday, the A’s will head to Oshkosh on Tuesday to face the Giants and will then return to Wildwood Baseball Park Wednesday, June 24 for “Sheboygan Falls Night” when they take on the Kenosha Kings in a Wisconsin State League battle, first pitch is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
