Former Oshkosh Giants pitcher Joe Pavlovich (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) has signed a professional deal to continue his career with the Southern Illinois Miners of the Frontier League.

Pavlovich made his only season in a Milwaukee uniform an impressive one, going 8-1 in 15 starts to earn First-Team All-Horizon League honors. He tied for the league lead in wins, posted the fourth-best ERA in the league (3.33) as well as the third-lowest opponent batting average (.249) and the seventh-highest strikeout total (62).

Pavlovich was a graduate student at Milwaukee after three seasons at UW-Oshkosh, where he was an All-WIAC honoree in 2013.

The Miners are a professional baseball team based in Marion, Ill., and play in the independent Frontier League. Pavlovich becomes the fifth Panther to sign a professional deal since the 2015 season wrapped up in the Horizon League Tournament Championship at the end of May.
