Sheboygan A’s 16, Green Bay Storm 2

Another huge offensive explosion by the Sheboygan A’s afforded them a comfortable lead early, but a seven-run inning meant the team’s
recent string of routs continued with a 16-2 win over Green Bay.

Ten
Storm errors helped the red-hot A’s to another easy victory. It’s the
club’s sixth-straight win, five of which came by way of the mercy rule.

It
wasn’t just the errors though. The A’s offense racked up a dozen hits.
Harry Steldt finished 3-for-5 with a double and a home run. Blake
Fleischman tallied three hits, Dan Barwick earned a single and a triple,
and Wyatt Olson doubled and singled.

Brandon Winfield went the distance, recording 13 strikeouts

Menasha’s
come-from behind win over Oshkosh last night clinched the pennant for
the Macs, and the A’s win guaranteed them a second-place finish in the
league, regardless of the outcome of their game in Appleton.

The
first-round playoff pairings on Sunday pits sixth-seeded Manitowoc
against third-seeded Appleton and fifth-seeded Green Bay against
Oshkosh. The winner with the highest seed plays at second-seeded
Sheboygan Tuesday night and the other winner plays at first-seeded
Menasha.

Other Scores:
Menasha Macs 6, Oshkosh Giants 5
