Dodgers Announce First Roster Signees

The De Pere Dodgers today announced the names of five players that have agreed to play for the Dodgers this summer in the Wisconsin State League. They are local area players with strong baseball backgrounds.

League. They are local area players with strong baseball backgrounds.
The five are infielders Tyler Nehring, Austen Dart, Sam Kohnle, Joe
Baier and pitcher Jacob Watzka. Nehring, Kohnle and Watza are presently
teammates at Division II Winona State University. Nehring is a senior
and captain of the Warriors and is hitting .319. Watzka from Green Bay
and Kohnle from Kewaunee are both freshmen. Dart is also a freshman at
Concordia University in Mequon and hails from Algoma. Joe Baier is also a
freshman at Division I Chicago State University and is from Green Bay.
The Wisconsin State League is one of the premier semi-professional/amateur baseball leagues in the mid-west. In operation since 1970, the Wisconsin State League is a highly competitive league that features many of the midwest's top current and former collegiate athletes, as well as many former professional baseball players.
