The Sheboygan A’s beat the Plymouth Flames on Wednesday 8-2 at Wildwood Baseball Park, Sheboygan, WI.
The A’s scored four runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Carter Amundsen, a RBI groundout by Adam Ryan, and a two-run single by Wyatt Olson.
After trailing 2-0 entering the bottom of the first, Taylor Grimm racked up three RBIs with a home run to deep left to put the A’s on top 3-2. They would not relinquish the lead for the remainder of the game.
Brandon Winfield got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over six innings. Winfield struck out 12, walked one and gave up eight hits.
Matt Rhude took the loss for Plymouth Flames. He allowed eight runs in seven innings, walked four and struck out six.
Plymouth jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Former A’s infielder Greg Rhude started the rally for Plymouth Flames with a single. A single by Zac Cain then moved Rhude from second to third, who would later score. The Flames pushed more runs across when Cain scored on an RBI single by Luke Held.
Mitchell Sutton, making his A’s debut, scored an insurance run in the sixth.
