WSL Sunday Recap: A’s Complete Weekend Sweep of Addison

The Sheboygan A's completed a four game weekend sweep of the Addison Braves on Sunday.

Eric Schmitz hopes every outing could go as well as Sunday, as Schmitz struck out 11 batters to carry Sheboygan A’s to a 9-2 victory over the Addison Braves at Wildwood Baseball Park, Sheboygan, WI in seven innings.
The A’s beat the Addison Braves thanks to 14 hits, including three extra base hits. They scored four runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Harry Steldt, an RBI single by Tyler Agard, a sacrifice fly by Cole Heili, and an RBI single by Taylor Grimm. Agard racked up four RBIs on three hits for Sheboygan A’s.
Brian Wiest paced the Addison Braves at the plate. Wiest went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fourth inning.
Eric Ryan was charged with the loss. He allowed nine runs in six innings, walked three and struck out three.
The A’s stayed on top until the final out after taking the lead in the third, scoring three runs on a two-run double by Agard and an RBI single by Taylor Grimm.
In the second full game Sunday, the A’s beat the Braves 13-3 in five innings after a seven-run explosion in the second inning, scoring on a RBI single by Taylor Grimm, two wild pitches, a walk by Mitch McConnell, an RBI single by Trevor Cho, an RBI single by TD Walker, and an RBI single by Tyler Agard. Grimm racked up three RBIs on two hits for Sheboygan A’s.
Brian Wiest boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace the Braves. He singled in the first and third innings and doubled in the fifth inning.
