Early Lead for Lombard Seals Fate for Addison

The Addison Braves fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 9-2 loss to the Lombard Orioles on Wednesday.
The Addison Braves fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-2 loss to the Lombard Orioles on Wednesday.
Addison struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Lombard, giving up nine runs.
Lombard got an early start on the scoring when Jeremy Quade hit a solo homer in the first inning.
Lombard add three more in the third, led by Kyle Fitzgerald, John Carmody, and KC Simonich, all driving in runs in the frame.
Charlie Klemm was on the mound for Lombard. He allowed no hits and no runs over three innings, striking out five and walking zero.
Chris Wido was on the mound for Addison. He went two innings, allowing one run on one hit and walking one. Tyler Zunkel, Alex Cardoza, Darren Davis, and Brian Weist each entered the game as relief, throwing two innings, two innings, two innings, and one inning respectively.
Derik Taylor went 1-for-4 at the plate to lead Addison in hits. Addison didn’t commit a single error in the field. Richard Masciopinto had the most chances in the field with six.
Lombard collected nine hits. Carmody and Fitzgerald each racked up multiple hits for the Orioles.
