Kenosha swept Addison Sunday evening
Kenosha Kings 8 – 3 Addison Braves, Kenosha Kings 5 – 0 Addison Braves
The Kenosha Kings nabbed the lead late in the first game in an 8-3 victory over The Addison Braves on Sunday. The game was tied at three with Kenosha batting in the bottom of the sixth when Travis Vanderwall doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
Addison opened up scoring in the first inning. Mike Rostine drove in one when he singled. Kenosha evened things up at three in the bottom of the fifth inning when Graham Wick reached on a dropped third strike.
After Addison scored one run in the top of the third, Kenosha Kings answered with one of their own. Kenosha then answered when Wick drew a walk, scoring one run.
Brennan Ray earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Kenosha. He lasted four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out six and walking one.
Kenosha defeated Addison 5-0 in the second game Sunday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Brandon Jeffery induced a fly out from Chris Wido to finish off the game.
One bright spot for Addison was a single by Brandon Holifield in the second inning. Ryan Hoerter earned the victory on the hill for Kenosha. He surrendered zero runs on six hits over six innings, striking out four. Jeffery threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
