Grand slams, shut out, and a couple high scoring games Thursday night
Sheboygan A’s 10 – 7 West Allis Nationals
Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between The Sheboygan A’s and The West Allis Nationals where Sheboygan prevailed 10-7. Sheboygan got things moving in the first inning. Logan R singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Drew Nuanes earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Sheboygan. He went eight innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out six. Brad Rindfleisch and Elliot Danhoff entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Rindfleisch recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Sheboygan. Jake Falish and Alex Dee both hit home runs on the day.
Lombard Orioles 14 – 0 Burlington Barons
The Lombard Orioles defeated The Burlington Barons 14-0 on Thursday as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Benji Rosengard struck out Anthony Touhy to finish off the game.
Kyle Fitzgerald led Lombard to victory by driving in five runs. He went 2-for-4 at the plate. Fitzgerald drove in runs on a single in the third and a grand slam in the fourth.
Andrew Bergman led Lombard to victory on the pitcher’s mound. He lasted five innings, allowing four hits and zero runs while striking out five and walking zero. Rosengard and Andrew Hancock entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
