Lombard defeated Burlington on Monday night 12-2 keeping them locked in at number one in the Wisconsin State League standings.

Lombard defeated Burlington on Monday night 12-2 keeping them locked in at number one in the Wisconsin State League standings. The Lombard Orioles took hold of their game against the Barons promptly, scoring a run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly hit by Kyle Fitzgerald. Another run on a sacrifice fly was scored in the fifth inning but this time it was for the Barons. Lombard ended up scoring in every inning except for the second and fourth which ultimately led to their victory over Burlington. Lombard’s Ryan Lin-Peistrup, Jacob Campbell, and Fitzgerald each collected multiple hits for the Orioles. Lin-Peistrup hit a home run in the fifth inning and ended up going 3-for-5 at the plate to lead the team in hits. Burlington’s Ben LaRonge led the Barons with two hits in three at bats.
