Orioles Walk It Off in Extras

The Lombard Orioles won an extra-innings affair Monday night, 8-7 over Addison.

The game was tied at 7-7 until a walk-off single from Lombard’s Andy Nelson scored a run that gave Lombard their win. Aside from the Orioles’ 10th inning hit, they were able to rack up 13 hits total, in comparison to Addison’s three. The Braves did have a big second inning that scored four runs all driven by a walk from Ben Espinoza and Chris Karasinski, and an error in the field by Peter Mercurio. Addison held a lead over the Orioles until the fifth inning when they tied things up 7-7, but another run wasn’t scored until Lombard’s walk-off single.
