Barons Get Past Nationals Tuesday

The Burlington Barons used a three-run third inning to secure the victory over West Allis Tuesday night.

Before tonight’s game, the Burlington Barons and West Allis Nationals were equally matched in the WSL standings with a 10-6 record. The Barons came out victorious with a final score of 4-1, putting them just ahead of the Nationals after Tuesday. Burlington scored a run in the first inning on an RBI double from Ben Siekierski and three additional runs in the third inning on hits from TJ Manteufel and Paul Archambault. West Allis was scoreless until the seventh inning when they put their only run up on a solo homer from Jon Keane. West Allis did not commit a single error and tallied five hits on the game but it wasn’t enough. Burlington’s Troy Hickey pitched an impressive game, lasting six innings, allowed zero runs and struck out 10.
