The Sheboygan A’s chances of winning a WSL Championship took a hit Thursday night as the West Allis Nationals squeaked out a 5-4 win at Wildwood Park in Sheboygan. The A’s jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning on a Josh Moses home run. The Nationals would come roaring back with four runs in the fifth and one in the sixth to grab a 5-4 lead. The A’s made things interesting in the eighth when Jimmy Juergensen blasted a two-run home run to pull the A’s within one, but Rob Coe came in to slam the door and preserve the Nationals road victory.

Burlington Barons 10, Kenosha Kings 0

The Burlington Barons hosted the Kenosha Kings Thursday and shut them out in seven innings, ending the ball game with a final score of 10-0. Burlington’s first big inning came in the fifth when they scored four runs with the help of four singles from Zach Campbell, Brandon Watkins, Jason Adams, and Danny Peterson. Another four runs were scored in the seventh inning on hits from Watkins, Peterson, and Logan Pye. Kenosha was only able to rack up three hits, one coming from Aaron Schauer’s single in the fifth inning. Burlington’s two pitchers Connor Kelly and Steven Kleyheeg both pitched the Baron’s to a victory and didn’t let up a run in the process.
