The Burlington Barons got out to a seven-run lead in the second inning and held on for a 7-5 victory over Kenosha on Wednesday in the opening game of the Wisconsin State League season.

The Burlington Barons got out to a seven-run lead in the second inning and held on for a 7-5 victory over Kenosha on Wednesday in the opening game of the Wisconsin State League season. Jason Dennis led the Barons offense, driving in four runs, going 2-for-3 at the plate, including a pair of home runs. Connor Kelly earned the win for Burlington, allowing three hits and two runs over six innings, striking out ten. Sam Scarlatto and Alex Kelly entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Brandon Jeffery took the loss for Kenosha, allowing seven runs on seven hits, striking out three, and walking one.
