Orioles Keep Pace with Nationals After Victory Over Kings

Four Lombard Orioles pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter Wednesday night, striking out 16 Kenosha batters along the way.

Lombard’s dominance continued Wednesday night with a 12-2 victory over Kenosha. With the win, the Orioles remain just a half-game behind West Allis for first in the WSL standings. Four Lombard pitchers combined to no-hit the Kings. Despite being no-hit, the Kings kept the game close at 4-2 until the bottom half of the eighth inning, when the Oriole’s offense exploded for eight runs. Eric Huges led the way for the Orioles, collecting three hits including a double and a home run with four runs batted in. 16 of the 24 defensive outs Lombard recorded were via strikeout.

Burlington Barons 10, Sheboygan A’s 6
Burlington and Sheboygan swapped places in the standings after the Barons used a six-run third inning to help power them to a 10-6 victory over the A’s. Ben Siekierski went 2-4 with a double and home run for Burlington who collected 11 hits in the game. Not to be out done, the A’s kept chipping away at the deficit with 14 hits, scoring two in the fourth, two more in the sixth and one in the ninth. Anthony Touhy got the win on the mound for Burlington, going six innings, allowing 12 hits and striking out seven, while Davis Wilson took the loss for Sheboygan, lasting only four innings, giving up nine runs (seven earned).
