Pair of DH Splits Highlight Sunday WSL Action

The Lombard Orioles and Sheboygan A's as well as the Burlington Barons and Addison Braves split their respective doubleheaders Sunday.
Lombard Orioles 10, 1, Sheboygan A’s 3, 4
The Orioles and A’s, played two very different games Sunday. Game one, was all Lombard, as they used 13 hits and a six-run sixth combined with five A’s errors to win 10-3. Jake Novak hit his third home run of the weekend and Matt Flaherty added a homer of his own while Andrew Bergmann pitched a complete game effort striking out eight. Sheboygan turned the tables in game two, taking an early lead for the first time all weekend in their 4-1 victory. Jared Reklatis kept the Orioles hitters at bay, scattering three hits and striking out six. The A’s got doubled from Jimmy Juergensen and TD Walker to help spur the offense. The loss was the Orioles second of the weekend, and their first two of the season after starting 16-0.
Addison Braves 8, 1, Burlington Barons 4, 5
Each team scored nine, and each surrendered 9 in a doubleheader split between Addison and Burlington Sunday. The Braves took game one, doubling up Burlington 8-4. The two teams traded runs back and forth all game. Jake Bilotta and Alexander Perez each had three-hit games for the Braves, including two doubles for Bilotta. Not to be out done, Nate Rentas of Burlington had a three-hit game of his own, including a double and home run. Game two favored the Barons from the jump, as they took a 3-0 lead after the top half of the first inning and never looked back in the 5-1 win. Anthony Touhy picked up the win, going all seven innings, striking out eight. Braves veteran Alex Cardoza took the loss after pitching five innings. Three of the five runs surrendered were earned.
