The Lombard Orioles locked up the 2021 Wisconsin State League title with a 10-3 victory over the second-place West Allis Nationals in game one of their doubleheader Saturday afternoon. The Nationals took game two 13-3.

The Orioles have had a stranglehold on the top spot in the WSL. They have won the title outright 14 straight seasons, and have had at least a share of the title the last 17 seasons. The only blemish on their historic streak was in 2006 when they finished in a three-way tie for first with the Kenosha Kings and Eau Claire Cavaliers.

The Orioles have outscored their opponents this season 234 to 67, and run differential of +167. The next closest team and the only other team with a positive run differential is West Allis, at +66.

The Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons picked up a four-game weekend sweep of the Kenosha Kings, winning by scores of 3-0, 2-1, 12-2, 6-1. The four wins helped them leapfrog both the Kings and Burlington Barons, who dropped two games to Sheboygan Sunday, into fourth place in the WSL.

The A’s, who swept Burlington, complete their WSL season at 15-15 and currently sit in third place.
