The Addison Braves and Lombard Orioles completed four-game weekend sweeps on Sunday.

Addison Braves 11, 10, Greater Green Bay Blue Ribbons 5, 3

The Addison Braves completed a four-game weekend sweep of Greater Green Bay with wins of 11-5 and 10-3 on Sunday. In game one, Braves hitters racked up 14 hits, including multi-hit games from five starters to pick up the win. Blane Bradford and a home run and Neil Freeman a double to account for all of the extra-base hits. Game two was more of the same as the Braves had another 11 hits, with Brian Donlea recording a three-hit game for the second time Sunday, collecting six hits total. Freeman hit a home run to continue his impressive day.

Lombard Orioles 3, 3, Burlington Barons 1, 0

Carson Roberts scored two of the Oriole’s three runs in a 3-1 game one victory over the Barons. The Orioles scored single runs in the first, second, and fourth to pick up the victory. Both the O’s and Barons finished with four hits, with each committing an error on defense. Game two of the doubleheader saw all the offense come in the bottom of the fourth for Lombard. Beginning with a leadoff double by Nate Mieszkowski, he got to trot all the way home as the next batter up for Lombard, Kyle Fitzgerald hit a two-run home run. A couple of hits later and Lombard would tack on their third run of the game.
