The Nationals swept a Saturday afternoon doubleheader from the Lombard Orioles Saturday, winning by scores of 4-3 and 4-2.

The Nationals swept a Saturday afternoon doubleheader from the Lombard Orioles Saturday, winning by scores of 4-3 and 4-2. The Nationals scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth in game one and held on in the seventh to hand the O’s their first WSL loss. Logan Rademan led the way with two hits including a double while DJ Hess and Andrew Jack combined to limit the O’s offense to just three runs. In game two, the Nationals used a three-run third to jump out to a 3-1 lead. They added another in the fourth to pick up the victory. Aaron Goecks and Rademan each hit home runs in the victory. Jonah Landowski pitched the complete game, striking out 10.
