The Wisconsin Class A State Tournament qualifiers get underway Tuesday night.

The Wisconsin State League utilizes a step-ladder format to determine who advances to the four-team state tournament, featuring Burlington, Kenosha, Sheboygan, and West Allis.

Lombard and Addison are not eligible for the state tournament as they are based in Illinois, and Greater Green Bay participates in the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League regional due to proximity as they are also members of the NEWBL.

Seeded based on regular season standings, the Kenosha Kings will travel to Sheboygan Tuesday night to take on the A’s in a single-elimination game. Tuesday’s winner will advance to Wednesday night in Burlington against the Barons. The winner of Wednesday’s matchup will face West Allis Thursday but will have already locked up a spot in the tournament as West Allis is the defending champion and gets an automatic birth in the tournament.

The Wisconsin Class A State Tournament takes place August 6-7 in Appleton, hosted by the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League’s Appleton Legends.
