The West Allis Nationals defeated the Milwaukee Heavy Hitters 8-3 on Saturday at Beaumont Field in Burlington, WI. Ashton Kampa’s single put the Nationals on the board in the fourth, but a double by Miguel Baez gave the Heavy Hitters a 3-2 lead in the fifth. The Nationals responded with five runs on six hits in the bottom of the fifth, highlighted by Jonah Meidl’s two-run double, to secure a 7-3 lead. Brayden Thompson earned the win, allowing one hit and three unearned runs over two innings. DJ Hess started for the Nationals, striking out six over four scoreless innings. The Nationals tallied 11 hits, with Kampa, Brayden Pleau, and Joe Zuleger each collecting two. Baez led the Heavy Hitters with three RBIs. The teams meet again on Thursday.
