Kings Sweep Sunday Afternoon DH with Braves

The Kings swept Addison by scores of 4-0 and 14-4 on Sunday.

Howie Rodriguez’s home run and Mason Velasquez’s RBI single in the third inning put the Kings on the board first in their 4-0 win over Addison. Velasquez added a solo homer in the sixth, and an error brought in another run. Brandon Jeffrey earned the win, allowing no runs and three hits over six innings, while Aaron Monti took the loss for the Braves. Velasquez led the Kings’ offense, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs.

Despite an early four-run lead, the Braves fell to the Kings 14-4 in game two Sunday. Cooper Ohlson’s three-run homer and Jack Rozmus’s RBI single put the Braves ahead in the first inning. However, the Kings responded with an 11-run outburst, highlighted by Nick Penzetta’s grand slam. Chris Wido took the loss for the Braves, allowing seven runs on five hits in just one-third of an inning. Joel Perry started for the Kings, giving up four runs over three innings. Penzetta led the Kings with seven RBIs, going 3-for-4, while Howie Rodriguez added three hits. The Braves managed six walks and turned two double plays, but couldn’t hold onto their early advantage.
