The Lombard Orioles edged out the West Allis Nationals 5-4 on Saturday with a late-game surge. Down 4-3 in the seventh, Rob Marinec’s fielder’s choice brought in two runs to clinch the victory. Marinec, who also singled in two runs in the first, led the Orioles with three RBIs. Logan Pye’s double gave the Nationals an early 3-2 lead, and Tyrese Mitchell’s sixth-inning double put them ahead 4-3. Mike Gray pitched four innings for the Orioles, while Branden Bille allowed three runs over six innings for the Nationals. Despite a strong effort from the Nationals’ hitters, the Orioles’ timely hitting and error-free defense secured the win.
