Nationals Take Two From Braves Saturday

The West Allis Nationals snatched the lead late in their 4-3 victory over the Addison Braves in game one on Saturday. The game was tied at three in the top of the tenth when Darryl Jackson singled, scoring one run. Addison opened the scoring in the first inning, but the Nationals tied the game in the fourth and took the lead in the fifth. Addison tied it again in the seventh before West Allis secured the win in extra innings. DJ Hess started on the mound for West Allis, allowing two runs over six innings. Brian Huntzinger, Jonah Meidl, and Garrett Kay each collected two hits for West Allis, while Jackson stole three bases.

West Allis Nationals got on the board first in the opening inning with Rob Coe’s double, but the Addison Braves took the lead in the second. West Allis Nationals regained the lead in the fourth with a sacrifice fly by Garrett Kay and a two-run triple by Logan Pye. Despite Addison Braves taking the lead again in the fourth, West Allis Nationals tied it in the fifth and secured the win in the sixth. Branden Bille started for West Allis Nationals, allowing five runs over four innings, while Ashton Kampa pitched one and two-thirds scoreless innings in relief. Brian Huntzinger led West Allis Nationals with four hits, while Pye drove in three runs. Frank Lavin drove in three runs for Addison Braves.
