Lombard Pounds Braves Tuesday

Mikey Kocen drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Lombard Orioles past the Addison Braves 19-0 on Monday. Kocen hit a home run to left field in the first inning, walked in the second inning, and hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning. The Orioles got on the board in the top of the first inning with contributions from Rob Marinec, Matt Scolan, and Kocen. An eight-run second inning, highlighted by Alex Najera’s solo home run, further extended their lead. Additional runs in the third and fourth innings solidified the Lombard Orioles’ commanding victory. Mike Hilker earned the win, allowing just one hit and striking out seven over four innings. The Lombard Orioles amassed 17 hits and demonstrated patience at the plate with 13 walks. They were also flawless defensively, committing no errors. Alex Lugo led the Addison Braves with one hit in three at bats.
